Since 1988, the Regina V. Polk Women’s Labor Leadership Conference has been educating working women throughout the Midwest. This multi-union, multi-day residential program seeks to develop women’s leadership at work and in their communities as well as offer a chance for networking and mentoring in a restorative atmosphere. Application deadline: March 31, 2016.
This year’s school will focus on creative internal organizing strategies for workplaces with a union contract. The “Let’s Get Creative!: Grievance Handling and Contract Enforcement” curriculum was developed by three experienced labor educators specifically for the Polk School.
New this year is a wellness curriculum taught by yoga instructor Jodi Adams who previously taught yoga at the 2014 Midwest School for Women Workers to rave reviews. We are thrilled to add her to the program.
