Caption: In February 2011, shortly after taking office, Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker steered a bill through the state legislature that effectively stripped Wisconsin’s public sector workers—excluding firefighters and police officers—of their rights to bargain collectively, among other long-established rights. In response, the state’s public sector workers, along with their allies from across the country, organized massive demonstrations to protest Governor Walker’s unprecedented actions.
