Special Issue, June 2017: Popular Revolt and the Global Working Class. Epitomised by Brexit, the election of Donald Trump, and Australia’s hard line on asylum seekers, we are living in a time of global revolt against establishment systems of governance. Working-class, poor, and other disenfranchised people are appearing as both agents and casualties of change.

Midwest Labor and Working Class History Colloquium organizers are currently soliciting papers for the 2017 colloquium. We welcome scholars from any discipline interested in presenting on a topic that broadly fits under the theme. The colloquium is open to scholars, public historians, graduate students, and activists presenting on contemporary and historical topics.

The 2017 Labor Research and Action Network (LRAN) national conference will be held Thursday, June 8th and Friday, June 9th at Howard University in Washington DC, hosted by the Department of Political Science. Submissions are due by Friday March 17th.

The Program Committee of the North American Labor History Conference (NALHC), an international conference with a global perspective on labor and working-class history, invites proposals for case studies, project demonstrations, papers, panels, roundtables, and workshops on the theme of Labor History and Public History for our thirty-ninth annual meeting.

The Southern Labor Studies Association is currently accepting submissions for the Robert H. Zieger Prize for Southern Labor Studies. SLSA awards the Zieger Prize at the biennial Southern Labor Studies Conference for the best unpublished essay in southern labor studies written by a graduate student or early career scholar, journalist, or activist.
